Coming Out of a Drug-Addled Haze

I had my afore-mentioned surgery last Monday and all went well.

I was home by 10:30 AM on Monday and that entire day was a drug-induced haze. I spent most of the day on the couch, gobbling pain pills (as prescribed) and fading in and out of consciousness. I swear to god, the History Channel must have had a "Story of the Gun" marathon, that show was on every time I swam to the surface. At some point I looked at the TV and fell in love with some CNN news-vixen, I'm not even sure who, maybe this lady.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was the absolute worst. The good drugs had worn off, the pain was intense, I also had a terrible sinus headache and kept puking. This whole deal was much more worse than when I had similiar surgery five years ago. Yesterday was terrible, terrible, until this lady I used to date called me up, heard how miserable I was and came over. She fed me warm ginger-ale, soda crackers, and chicken soup and I felt much better. I probably needed someone to look at me and say "Oh you poor thing" as much as any medicine or food.

People have been dropping by and calling, so that has been nice. Tomorrow I should get to work on some shit here at home, the sitting around in pain on drugs part is over, oh well.
