Some months back I said I actually started on my Confederate monument article and was going to shut up about it until it was done.
Well, I've finally got a damn nice 30 page first draft done. Part of the reason I have not blogged much lately is because I have been busy with it. It's actually more like a second draft, since I kept revising as I went along, and totally changed the opening and found a new way to frame the whole article.
The chessy alliteration is gone, but at the suggestion of my boss, I put the word "inculcate" in there.
I have another week or so of work to do on it, then I have to run it by someone else, incorporate his suggestions, and then shoot it off to the folks I hope will publish it.
