Oh hell. I'm still around. Still pretty much obsessed with putting pictures up on flickr. One of my best friends died. I've been busy at work. I'm reading that Beatles biography that came out last year, it is wonderful.
Oh, and goddamn Donald Rumsfield resigned and the Dems got Congress. Christmas in November!

Reading:
Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War by Nathaniel Philbrick. Finished. I was a little disappointed in this, I feel like he tried to cover too much ground in too few pages. I liked his book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex much better. If you want to find out about the Pilgrims, I recommend The Times of Their Lives: Life, Love, and Death in Plymouth Colony by James Deetz and Patricia Scott Deetz.
The American Heritage Book Of The Revolution by Richard M. Ketchum; Bruce Lancaster; and J.H. Plumb (Eds). Almost done with this, just kind of a time-killer, I didn't want to read anything too substantial or that was trying to make some big point.
Diversions:
I've been pretty obsessed with taking pictures of my toy collection and posting them to Flickr. Sample below:
My girlfriend's nerd alarm went off yesterday, I'm suprised I haven't worn it out.

Reading:
The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard.
This book has pirhana fish, natives with poison arrows, and anus-invading parasitic fish. It makes me want to read more about exploring the Amazon.
I'm still reading Race and Reunion, and enjoying it very much thank you. I still need to read this, and this, I really don't want to, but I have to read this.
It looks like this is on deck though.
For some reason, I've become interested in this book Infinite Jest, by David Foster Wallace. For some reason I wanna tackle that thing.
