Update

I guess I needed a break from this thing. Here's some news you can't use:

I got the proofs of my article, that was pretty exciting, it will be published in a couple months.

My computer died for a few days. I got a great deal on a rebuilt Pentium III.

Books read:

Settling Accounts: Drive to the East by Harry Turtledove.

Blood Done Sign My Name
by Timothy Tyson. I can't recommend this one highly enough.

Cell by Stephen King.

The Dark Tower V: Wolves of Calla by Stephen King (I had to reread this after watching the Magnificent Seven).

Team of Rivals: the Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Currently Reading:

No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: the Home Front in World War II by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

"County Buildings and Other Public Structures in Colonial North Carolina" by Alan D. Watson in the Oct. 2005 NC Historical Review.

Movies:

The Magnificent Seven

Lord of the Rings: Special Extended Director's blah blah...

Amelie

The Last Waltz (I'd forgotten how good this is).

Music:

Various Artists: One Kiss Can Lead to Another: Girl Group Sounds Lost and Found

The Carter Family: Can the Circle Be Unbroken

Various Artists: Anthology of American Folk Music, edited by Harry Smith.
