I haven't posted for about a week and I seem to be getting more hits than when I do post.
Updates
I've been busy with my Confederate Monument article. It is due Friday. Last night I had to do this excruciating deal where you copy and paste the footnotes to a different document, then you have to renumber them all. Then, delete the notes from the article, and insert the superscript numbers after you delete them. Fuck. Something to do with their typesetting they need them in two documents.
I'm excited to have it done (up to this point anyway), more proofing and stuff later. I just found a motherlode of more info on Confederate Monuments in NC and am busy photocopying that when I can grab a few minutes. So much information and so little time.
Plus, I just got a copy of Living Monuments: Confederate Soldiers' Homes in the New South. I simply must read this book.
Yes, I'm a goddamn nerd about this stuff and I don't care.
A couple weeks ago I saw Corpse Bride with Phone Tag Lady and enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas, but still enjoyable. The scene where Johnny Depp's character first meets the Corpse Bride was as well done and exciting as anything I'd seen in quite awhile. By the way, Phone Tag Lady is history, by mutual consent.
So now I've been exchanging phone calls with (no phone tag here) a lady I shall call "Sick Fathers Lady." Sick fathers (plural) because both our dads have been having health problems lately and we can't seem to get together because of it.
