Ten Things to Like About Canada

1. They have four-lane roads there, with two lanes going each way, speed about 80-110 kph. There are signs that say "Please use the left lane for passing only" and that is exactly what everybody does. Drives the speed limit in the right lane, and passes slowpokes and gawking yankee tourists in the left lane.

2. Their cool cigarette warning labels.

3. They have regular trash cans, recycle bins, and bins marked "compost."

4. With both Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island being bilingual, we were constantly greeted by clerks, tour guides, etc. with "Hello Bonjour." Then however we answered, they'd carry on in that language.

5. Acres of beautiful lupins.

6. The only person I could recognize on any of their money was Queen Elizabeth II (I think). Most of the Canadians I asked didn't know who in the hell the other people were either.

7. St. Ann's Lobster Suppers

8. I didn't see anyone on Prince Edward Island with a cell phone. I don't know if that is because there isn't any coverage or if no one feels the need for one. Everyone seemed to get along just fine without them.

9. They haven't invaded any other countries lately, if ever.

10. Everybody was just so damn nice.
