Friday, June 24, 2005 :::
Damn.
Last Wednesday I found out I did not get a job I applied for with the agency I already work for. I didn't think I had much of a chance of getting it, and I didn't really want it anyway. The fun part is, I heard about when I got an email saying who did get the job, and it wasn't me. They are not supposed to broadcast that shit until the losers have been notified.
That same day, I also found out the duplex I live in is going to be torn down to make way for "luxury homes." Great, the people who can spend $400,000 on a house have another choice of where to live, while middle-class yokels like me are fucked once again. The fun part is, I heard about this when I read it in the paper. Wednesday was my day for getting bad news through back channels I guess.
The having to move thing kinda sucks, but I'm prepared to deal with it. Something good will come out of it, I'm sure. In a couple days I'm leaving on my big trip, so fuck it all until after then.
Speaking of my trip, I bought a new storage memory card thingie for my new digital camera. Had to make sure it worked, and turned around and took a picture of the first thing I saw:
Hey!! It's a picture I took of the Confederate Monument in New Bern (w/analog camera)...
P.S. This is worth watching if you like good guitar playing.
