Wednesday morning some guy ran into the Confederate Monument with his car down by the Capitol and he died.

I'd been meaning to walk down there and take some pictures with the new camera, so now there was even more of an excuse. Here's the picture, you can see the little crunched up part in the wall down in the bottom center:

This guy on Metafilter registered the domain name www.benedictXVI.com. He now has the url pointing to a local charity. A thread talking about it here and another one here with a link to his interview on the Today Show. He talks some about it on his webpage too. I like this guy's sense of humor. When asked what he would want from the Vatican for the domain name, he requested "one of those hats, complete absolution for everything that happened the third week of March 1987, and two nights at the Vatican hotel."
