Having Fun

I've been enjoying the hell out of my new digital camera. But my god, I've certainly contributed to the solid waste problem in this country. In the past week I have bought: the digital camera, a photo printer, an extra memory card, a USB hub, a USB cable, a new surge protector, and extra paper and ink for the printer. The packaging for all this was unreal, I had a huge mound of plastic, cardboard, and paper in the middle of my living room by time I had everything hooked up. But I guess I'll make up for it by not buying film, right?

Saturday I drove up to Warrenton, a nice little town about 1 hour northwest of here. I have not been up that way for a long time, I forgot how pretty it is up there. Hilly and green with the dogwoods and azaelas going nuts. They have two (count 'em two) Confederate monuments. I'm kind of proud of this shot of the one in the cemetery. It looks great blown up:

And here is this shot of neat looking decrepit building I passed on the way up. I would have liked to have taken more pictures of it but there were tons of "No Trespassing" signs around. I didn't even want to get out of my car, I took this from the driver's seat:

I'd taken the cure and had just gotten through...
