Music City, Here I Come!

I found out Thursday afternoon, through a too-complicated series of events, that I get to go to Nashville, TN, for work this week. I will be attending the Southeastern Archives and Records Conference for three days. Everything's paid for, and usually opportunities like this only come for people well above my pay grade, so I'm happy to do it. I'll be traveling with four ladies from work, three of whom I know and they are fun people. The part I'm looking forward to the most is dinner at and a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. I have to dress nicely, attend a few roundtable discussions, and try and say something coherent about the institution I work for. The "saying something coherent" will be the hardest part of the week.

Then I get to leave work early on Friday to go to Charlotte for a movie night, what a nice week I have to look forward to.

Reading:

Washington's Crossing by David Hackett Fischer, Oxford University Press, 2004.

Last Watched:

The Day of the Jackal (1973). I've said it before, and I'll say it again, damn, that is one heck of a good movie.

P.S.

I think I finally finished my damn Confederate Monument article, I hope to turn it in next week. (but, then I have another, shorter one, due on May 1st, I love this shit but I'll be glad when its out of the way for a little while)
