Those Bastards!
No, I'm not talking about Boosh and company.
For the last day and a half I have been photocopying a whole box of 400+ bastardy bonds from the 1820's to 1840's. When a women had a baby out of wedlock (often referred to as a "base-born child") she had to go into court, name the father, and he had to post bond saying he would support the kid. Hence the bastardy bonds.
The important part of this is it has given me license to walk around work muttering things like: "Those bastards, all those bastards." When I'm standing at the photocopier and someone asks what I'm doing, I can say "These bastards won't leave me alone! I'm sick of these bastards!"
People seemed to think it was funny. Well, the first time I said it they thought so. I think everybody (self included) are happy I'm done.
Quote of the Day:
"It doesn't matter that Bush scares the hell out of me," Hersh answered. "What matters is that he scares the hell out of a lot of very important people in Washington who can't speak out, in the military, in the intelligence community. They know in ways that none of us know, the incredible gap between what is and what [Bush] thinks."
--- Seymour Hersh.
