Audio Woes at Work: or, Your Tax Dollars at Work

My desk at work is in an out-of-the way corner, and I can pretty much do anything I want to there. I had gotten used to listening to the local NPR station while sitting there. But for some reason, it stopped working with Real Player and it won't work with Windows Media Player either.

So I tried downloading what used to be Spinner, a great online radio, but now its some damn "Netscape Radio" shit and asks for money after playing for about one hour. So, not being up on cool internet radio stuff anymore, I checked out MSN's free internet radio. I chose the "Classic Rock" station and have been pleasantly surprised. Right now they are playing "Happiness is a Warm Gun" by The Beatles, a song I can pretty much always listen to. I just heard "Artificial Light" off of the Kinks' album Sleepwalker. Not one of their best songs, but I probably hadn't heard it for 20 years so that was OK. The station is pretty heavy on Queen, which isn't too good. But they also play a lot of John Mayall, Led Zeppelin, and George Harrison which are pretty much okay with me.

I'd taken the cure and had just gotten through...
