Here's a good column by former Senator Max Cleland on the parallels between Vietnam and Iraq.
In case you don't know who Cleland is, he was a Democratic senator from Georgia who had lost two or three limbs in the Vietnam war. He lost reelection after being savaged by the Republicans for not living up to their brand of patriotism.
