More Job Confusion
I had another job interview (third one in three weeks) at the state archives. I'm getting to know those folks pretty well. This was for the job previously classified as the "really crappy job" as opposed to the "crappy job" and the "great job." But after hearing more about the really crappy job yesterday, I may have to downgrade it to the "other crappy job" or possibly the "not so crappy job." It does not have as much public service as I envisioned and actually has a better schedule than the previous crappy job. Whatever crappy job I get, you'll all read about it here.
Runaway Slave Ad of the Day
Canaan, October 20, 1785.
On Tuesday evening the 25th instant, ran away from my Tar Works, my negro man JACK, aged about 24 years, about five feet and half high, marked with a large gash on each cheek, and part of his scalp taken off the back part of his head, he cannot straighten his right little finger. --- Whoever will take up said servant and return him to me or confine him in some jail, shall have necessary charges paid and be handsomely rewarded. -- Thomas Denny
