Bonus Friday Night Update
I still haven't left for New York yet, I only made it as far as Charlotte to pick up my traveling partner, we hit the road tomorrow.
I finally, offically, got that job in the Special Collections Department at the university library. I am now the "Assistant to the Rare Book Curator." It sounds more impressive than it is, but I'm happy to have it. I got the phone call offering me the job about 30 minutes before I left for vacation. Its nice to know I'll have a job when I come back.
